Ricky Rudd of Cheapeake, Va., sparks after hitting the retaining wall near turn two at the 220th lap of the NASCAR Winston Cup.

This was my first and only taste shooting NASCAR, and I’m happy for it. It was immensely boring! I fell asleep while standing up. The rumbling of the cars is very soothing when you’re standing on the inside of the track.
