100902 Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

I took my weekend to drive to see the Atlantic Ocean.

This is the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

It’s recognized all over the world for its barber shop black swirl. Since much of the land had eroded between the lighthouse and the sea, it was in danger of being swept away. So it was moved half a mile inland in 1999.

Below is the sunset I saw from my campground at Ocracoke Campground and a crab I found on the beach.
