Nebraska and South Dakota Native Americans walk on University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s campus to protest the treatment of their ancestors’ bones.

Native issues have always been a part of the politics in the state capitol city. I once shook the hand of Russell Means after a speech he gave at the University. Got to talk to John Trudell after he spoke at a middle school. These amazing men were influential in one of history’s greatest causes: the American Indian Movement.

For more information about the finding of Native ancestrial bones on campus, read this article from the Archives of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
