A police officer munches on sunflower seeds while watching over the crowd during the annual Haight Ashbury Street Fair.

A college friend of mine was in the area, so I took him around the Bay to show him the sights. I had to take him to the famous Haight Ashbury district. What a surprise we had when we found the fair in full swing! Talk about dumb luck.

Later that night I took him up the the Oakland’s Redwood Regional Park, one of my favorite hiking places, to see the Bay sunset.

A night on the town in Berkeley with the best Ritz Camera co-workers anyone could ask for. We were a close motley crew of photojournalists and art photographers. And we had so much fun together.

Here Thien tries to jump out and scare me. But I was prepared and captured him for all time.
