Observation binoculars atop of Grandfather Mountain have a sheet of ice on them. Decided to make another trip to the forest again on Halloween.

A photo of me on the Mile High Swinging Bridge. The wind was harsh and strong that day.

A self-portrain of me in Linville Gorge with Table Rock behind me.

One of the regular things I got to shoot in North Carolina was the NFL’s Panthers. Remind you, it was not like Nebraska ball, where the energy was high and the stadium bursting with people. (I now realize what an honor it was to learn how to shoot football with such an amazing team and coach in the mid-1990s.) Also, it didn’t help that the season record was horrible: 1 in 15.
Above is Panther Muhsin Muhammad runs with the ball as Tampa Bay’s Shelton Quarles gets the tackle in the beginning of the third quarter. Carolina lost 12 to 9.

Carolina Panther’s Rod Smart knocks a punt return from the line of the end zone in the first quarter of Sunday’s game in Charlotte.

Decided to play weekend warrior and backpack in North Carolina’s Pisgah National Forest alone. This here is a waterfall while on the trails in the Wilson Creek area.

Ricky Rudd of Cheapeake, Va., sparks after hitting the retaining wall near turn two at the 220th lap of the NASCAR Winston Cup.
This was my first and only taste shooting NASCAR, and I’m happy for it. It was immensely boring! I basically fell asleep while standing up. The rumbling of the cars is very soothing when you’re standing on the inside of the track.
