Award-winning photojournalist Nikki Fox has always sought adventure in the outdoors and within people. Upon graduating high school she moved to Brazil and attended an Art College at São José do Rio Preto. She then enrolled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and earned her Bachelor of Journalism in 2000.

A Nebraska native, Nikki has traveled extensively on her own across the country, mainly using photojournalism as the means. She has worked at medium-to-small sized newspapers in Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Wyoming, North Carolina, Kentucky and Virginia in the past 17 years.

Nikki has been living in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley for over six years and works at a medium-sized newspaper as it's Director of Photography. While living in Appalachia, she has fallen in love with the exploration of caves. Combining caving, with vertical techniques, and years of photography she has self-published her first caving book, "Going Down . . . Underground."
